هود

Hud is a surah of storms — mostly the kind that arrive after long patience runs out.

Nuh عليه السلام preaches for centuries and gathers almost no one. The ark is built on dry land while his people laugh at him. The water comes. And then the passage that hurts most: his son on a hill, saying he will climb a mountain to escape, and a wave passing between them. Nuh asks about him, and is told plainly — *he is not of your family; his conduct was not righteous.* Blood was never the qualification.

Then 'Ad, Thamud, Lut, Shu'ayb — each rejected, each ended. The surah does not soften any of them. And yet its instruction to the Prophet ﷺ, after all that, is not despair: *"So remain on a straight course as you have been commanded."* Its closing note is that good deeds erase bad ones, and that Allah wastes nothing.
