Surah Ash-Sharh
Surah 94 · The Relief · 8 verses · meccan
The Relief — ash-Sharh, from the opening question: "Did We not expand for you your breast?"
The story
This tiny surah says the same sentence twice, because Allah wanted to be sure we heard it: with every hard thing, there is ease. Not after it — *with* it, at the same time.
How it unfolds
AYAH 1-4
What was done for you
The chest expanded, the burden removed, the mention raised.
AYAH 5-6
With hardship, ease
The same sentence twice, for emphasis.
AYAH 7-8
So when you have finished
Relief that turns into the next effort, and longing directed upward.
Verses to carry
- 94:5"For indeed, with hardship comes ease."
- 94:6The same verse again — repeated so it cannot be missed.
- 94:7"So when you have finished, stand up."
Remember this
When something is hard, the help is already there with it.
