Surah Al-Hadid

Surah 57 · The Iron · 29 verses · medinan

The Iron — al-Hadid, from verse 25, where iron is described as sent down, containing great might and benefits for people.

The story

Allah says something amazing here: He is with you wherever you are. Not just at the mosque, not just when you pray — everywhere, all the time.

How it unfolds

  1. AYAH 1-6

    With you wherever you are

All creation glorifying, and Allah's knowledge and presence stated plainly.

  2. AYAH 12-19

    Light that runs ahead

Believers with their light before them, and the hypocrites asking them to wait.

  3. AYAH 16

    Has the time not come

The verse that rebuked hearts growing hard, addressed to believers.

  4. AYAH 20-24

    Rain, then debris

Worldly life described in five words, and the crop that dries and yellows.

  5. AYAH 25-29

    Iron sent down

Scripture, the balance, and iron — justice needing both the book and the strength to uphold it.

Verses to carry

  • 57:4"And He is with you wherever you are."
  • 57:16"Has the time not come for the believers that their hearts should become humble?"
  • 57:20Worldly life as play, amusement, adornment, boasting, and competing — then the crop that turns to debris.

Remember this

Allah is with you right now, wherever you are reading this.
