Surah Taha

Ta-Ha — two letters that open the surah. Some early scholars read them as a form of address to the Prophet ﷺ; the letters themselves are among those whose meaning is left with Allah.
The story
Musa عليه السلام was lost in the dark with his family when he saw a fire far away. He went to get some for warmth — and Allah spoke to him there. Allah gave him a big job, and Musa asked for two things: help with his words, and his brother beside him.

The fire in the valley
Musa sees a fire, finds his Lord, is given the staff and the hand, asks for Harun, and is told to speak to Pharaoh gently.

Ropes that seemed to move, a truth recognised at once, and threats that could not undo a prostration.

The calf
Rescue at the sea followed by a golden calf, and Musa returning in fury to a brother who had been overruled.
AYAH 115-127
Adam and the whisper
The forgotten covenant, the tree, and the promise that whoever follows guidance will not go astray or suffer.
Verses to carry
- 20:25Musa's du'a before a hard conversation: "My Lord, expand for me my chest, and ease my task."
- 20:14"Establish prayer for My remembrance." The reason prayer exists, in four words.
- 20:114"My Lord, increase me in knowledge" — the only thing the Prophet ﷺ was told to ask for more of.
- 20:44"Speak to him gently, that perhaps he may be reminded." Said about Pharaoh, of all people.
Remember this
Before something scary — a test, a talk, a new class — say what Musa عليه السلام said: "My Lord, make this easy for me."
Talk about it
Allah told Musa عليه السلام to speak gently even to Pharaoh, who was cruel. Why do you think gentleness works better than shouting?
